Shared zone
Urban Design Guidelines for Victoria, published by the State of Victoria (Australia) in 2016, defines a shared zone as a: ‘A street where pedestrians, cyclists and vehicles share the roadway, and pedestrians outnumber motor vehicles. A shared zone has no cross motor traffic.’
It defines a shared path as: 'A path that is shared by both pedestrians and cyclists, but does not accommodate motor vehicles. On a shared path, cyclists must give way to pedestrians.'
